This is a small selection of our favourite free software tools to help you make the most of your Positive account.

Putty is a small but fully featured Windows SSH and telnet client. Use it to log in to your server and configure or edit your website in place. There is no need to install it, simply download and run by double clicking. This really is a Positive favourite!

FileZilla is a powerful FTP-client for Windows NT4, 2000 and XP, and one of the best tools for uploading your files from a Windows machine.

Your Positive Internet account gives you access to the MySQL database. If you wish to connect to this from your own machine, you may need to download the appropriate connector from MySQL. This will allow you to port data straight from Microsoft Access, SQL Server and Oracle on your Windows 9x/2000/XP machine to MySQL on our servers, or develop applications that can access your database.

If you simply wish to connect to your database from a script running on our server, then you do not need to download the connector, as this functionality is built in to our software.
